Biography
Timothy Jones, originally from Gadsden, Alabama, has been residing in Huntsville since 2018. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1991, where he excelled in high school basketball. In addition to his impressive military career, Mr. Jones takes great pride in being a devoted father to two children and a loving grandfather to one grandchild.
Mr. Jones is a distinguished Navy Veteran, having completed 20 years of honorable service as an Operations Specialist First Class Petty Officer. During his time in the Navy, he had the incredible opportunity to play basketball against various Semi-Professional and Professional Teams from countries such as the Philippines, South Korea, New Caledonia, Brisbane Australia, Cairns Australia, and Japan, all while on 6-month deployments.
Following his retirement from the Navy, Mr. Jones worked as a contractor, ensuring that sailors were qualified to go on Navy deployment. He also had the privilege of working in Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, and Abu Dhabi with the Army and Airforce.
In 2018, Mr. Jones seized the opportunity to establish a presence for his beloved sport in the Huntsville/Madison market. With the birth of the North Alabama War Dawgs, he embarked on a journey that would prove to be immensely successful. In the team’s first four seasons, they achieved an impressive record of 65 wins and 20 losses, showcasing their exceptional skills and dedication. The North Alabama War Dawgs even made it to the ABA Final Four, solidifying their status as a formidable force in the league. Mr. Jones’ passion for the sport and his commitment to the team’s success have undoubtedly played a significant role in their achievements.
